I’ve been working on this for a while now. I was inspired to draw a new version of the gang as pirates when I updated the original I drew back in 2011, but I wanted to do a whole new pose and this is the result. Lots of details with all the belts, clothing, and weapons, not to mention the stuff in the background. This was about a week’s worth of work all told to get it drawn, inked, and colored. Doing stuff like this gives me enough confidence that I can indeed draw. I haven’t felt all that “funny” of late, so my jokes are really flat and lame, but I am pushing through all the old baggage and hopefully I’ll have some funny comics soon, as well as more than a few times a month.

I have dug the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series! I love Hans Zimmer’s score, and the main theme is fantastic! But, being this is a rock ‘n’ roll comic, I wanted something with a little more kick. And I found it! This guy shreds an excellent version of Zimmer’s main theme. This should help wake you up and get your Monday started!
That looks great! love the update.
You’re welcome! I’m beginning to feel like an artist again.
“Oh I like to be a pirate, / a pirate’s life for me! / All my friends are pirates, / and sail the B.B.C! / I’ve got a Jolly Roger! / It’s black and white and vast! / So get out of your Skull and Crossbones, / and I’ll run it up your mast!”
Okay… is this a parody of some song’s lyrics? The rhythm of the phrases sounds familiar. At first I thought it might be the Oscar Mayer wiener song, but I just listened to that and it’s not quite right… at least to my old ears.
If simply made this up, then kudos to you!
Not me. George Harrison and Eric Idle. You can find it on YouTube, or at least you could last time I looked for it. Let me check…yup, it’s still there, here’s a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3CosIid63U
Great to see you drawing more and more Byron! Keep it up.
I got diagnosed with ADD as an adult in 2000. It changed my life to finally get out of my own way. I’m really enjoying the new material! ??
Thanks, man! Without sounding too overboard, I’m a new person these days. Especially compared to the depressed mess I was for over a decade. This comic, and my comic friends, pulled me through those tough times. I’m hoping to give a little something back to my readers with the new material.
Love Lorraine and Robyn sexy pirates they be too bad Bud was not Buddet dressed as Geena Davis was in the box office bomb Cut throat Island. It lost $147 million but Geena looked hot loved her and Julie Brown in earth girls are easy. Maybe dress them as Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance just like the 1980s Budwiser ad or married with children parody Al as captain courage Steve as Rubo the cruel evil opera singer mohahahaha. Kelly as a sexy pirate big hair, crop top and sexy tights show cute little rump look fabulous on Buddet. Even do Yellow beard famous line “Their’s pirating to be done.’ Monty Python’s Eric Idle, Graham Chapman and John Cleese with Martin Cheece and Tommy Chong. Of course the Caribbean sea is just south of the Gulf of Mexico and the Mississippi River so they could be sexy river pirates enjoying a River boat Fantasy song by David Wilcox. Or be Yankee whalers and Moby Dick Alex Jones he’s white as big as a whale and a dick using plumber plungers instead of harpoons. Just humiliate the big guy not hurt him with luck his trunks will fall off that’s alot more than we want to see. Needless to say not so popular with southerns but what do expect from those who eat cute little bunnies and squirrels. As for Jeff if he won’t doll up then stick him naked in a barrel of crabs so he can feel the pinch. It was funny in Abbot and Castello Lost in Alaska but burring Jeff in the sand will still give him the pinch. How about weaponizing Jeff have dye his hair black have him wear black boots and speedos put his arms in casts with hooks and a stick of dynamite on each hook. He’d be a cross between captain hook and astro boy fire him upon any ship who dare to sail in out way with a 40 pounder cannon. Take that captain highliner make Billy walk the plank into a barrel of lobsters those things really give you the pinch rahahahaha.
I remember that Geena Davis film “Cutthroat Island” and it’s not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It’s a fun romp on the sea. It got cut down due to the “female led films don’t make money’ and the fact that the film received nearly no marketing to support it.
I’ll have to dig it up and watch again here soon. I did enjoy back in the day.
