Today’s comic is SOOO me in 1977. If you enjoy the 70s portions of this comic, you can thank my drinking habit from that era for spawning ideas like today. Um, oh, Sorrento’s Pizza in Lombard, Illinois was to die for. Deep Dish Pizza to the max. Green Peppers, Sausage & Pepperoni was the standard for the guys I hung with. And yes, I drank a 6-pack while watching “Star Trek” episodes on TV. I was a “Lost In Space” fan and I needed the blurry eyes to enjoy Kirk’s never ending speeches…
OH CANADA! Yes, today I honor our neighbors to the north. No, not Wisconsin, Canada. Canada’s Trooper had a hit with “Raise A Little Hell” in the 70s. Trooper happened to open for BTO in 1976 when they swung through Chicago. Styx managed to get in on the action and it was three groups for like $6.95 at ticket! Flaming cheese and wine at Dinah’s after the concert was standard fare for me on concert nights. My kinda place. Alcohol and FIRE!! Yes, there is a God after all…
Enjoy the Easter Holiday if you’re so inclined. I’m stuck doing chores as NASCAR is off this weekend. Damn.
😀

Chicago-style deep-dish ‘za. OMFG!!!
… and raise the toilet lid while he’s at it!
lols
Hehe, I would like, at some point, to know just how on earth they got that house repaired so fast! But I’m glad things are back to normal… for now! lol. Great job, man.
Re_”And what’s up with the cardboard served with cheese in New York? Could that stuff be any thinner?”:
Sadly enough, the answer is “Yes”. NYC’s “Sicilian” slices might be barely thick enough to qualify as a “deep dish”, but at the opposite end of the spectrum, Stamford, CT. makes a regular slice so thin-&-stiff that it might as well be a crisp matzoh (or a saltine cracker) underneath the pizza-toppings. If they didn’t cook it a little extra-long, then they could use it to print their newspapers, because it would be too limp to pick up. Imagine trying to hold a slice that had the consistency of a thin bed-sheet, & you’ll see why it needs to be extra-crisp.
😛
WHY they cook it this way remains a mystery…
…perhaps they just don’t know any better…?
I remember days like those. Well, I sorta remember ’em anyway.
Trooper is cool. Got to hang out with those guys twice this year. They played at a private Christmas party and then again March 20th. Their sound guy is old school. Has his own mixer didn’t want to use our fully digital system.
