Here’s an old drawing I did of Lorraine that the best I can tell I’ve not shared before. I am not thrilled with the pose and I completely failed at the cape she’s wearing. I was wanting to do something ala Stevie Nicks’ stage outfit with a transparent cape, but that was beyond my abilities at the time. Also, I totally forgot to add the microphone cable to her mic.
I doubt I’ll update this one, but one never knows. The cape really bugs me and it may eventually taunt me into redrawing it.
AND… Just as an FYI, the comic will return officially on February 7th. When I make future posts, they will also appear on Mondays. I will not post every Monday as my goal is to do every other week to see how I handle the “stress” of a deadline. I have already scripted out several comics to get the relaunch started and I’m happy with how my progress is going so far. We’ll see how it goes!
And with that, I have “No Time To Lose” to get some comics ready for February 7th! This is a great single from the Tarney/Spencer Band and was in heavy rotation along with Sniff ‘n’ the Tears “Driver’s Seat” back in 1979.
Not to worry about the mic cord. In 1960 Vega Electronics of Sunnyvale, CA introduced the first broadcast quality wireless microphone. Our first “name” performer to use one was Johnny Mathis. Development and field testing took place starting in 1959. EMI Production Music (Gerry & The Pacemakers and others) was an early investor. BY the way, are you and your son still playing with the Miata?
Well in my opinion it’s good start remember listening to a CD of the 1981 movie Heavy Metal. One of the songs was Blue light and watch ball lightening out of my kitchen window after the 1998 ice storm black out the boom box had batteries. Remember another Stevie Nicks song Sorcerer from the Movie Streets of Fire have a CD and sang it in a drag show love Diane Lane. But the drag queens prefer the more campy Dolly Parton. Have you ever seen Streets of Fire? Speaking of movies and even books is Lorraine cape reminds me of Bilbo Baggins Lenard Nimoy sang Bilbo Baggins the Bravest Hobbit of them all unlike William Shatner he can sing. Bilbo should have told the dwarves to hit the bricks it’s too dangerous facing elves, goblins, orcs, trolls, giant spiders and smog the dragon. Since he was dumb enough to listen to Gandoff just throw the ring into a volcano and save Frodo some grief. The moral don’t listen to Wizards and always tell mythical characters to hit the bricks. Lorraine could be in Dark Shadow facing Barnabas the heart breaking vampire and Angelique the sexy witch looks hot in black dress with matching boots. Set in Collingwood estate Maine 1972 the movie even has Alice Cooper singing no more Mr nice guy with go go dancers in mini dresses, matching hot pants and boots. Went as a surf witch one Halloween sexy ribbed one piece swim suit, knee high boots and a cute little shark biting a surf board. So wicked I didn’t need black magic. Lorraine could always be Paige Patton who is a witch from the comic sorority girls versus zombies she has a romance with Brittany Miller and learns magic from Dog witch who gets morbid pleasure watching her younger sister Blue Belle get terrorized. Lorriane could even pose with the wicked witch of the west. She was in the 1976 Paul Lynde’s Halloween special along with Kiss who sang Detroit Rock City, Donny and Marie Osmond better than Elvira’s Halloween special. Just read Meat Loaf died he was great in the Rocky horror picture show and paradise by the dash board light I’ll miss him and I know you do to.
Will you be doing a VDSD pic for Valentine’s Day?
