Before you 80’s children start giving me crap about today’s comic title, it is NOT the Journey song, but the a great little rocker from the Dave Clark 5… Who? No, not the Who, but the Dave Clark 5. They’re known for the song “Glad All Over” that’s played at sports stadiums a lot these days. The reason for picking this 1964 AM hit is two fold… one, the gang kinda has to do what their manager tells them to do, and two, Rocky has dressed them up as the Beatles from the early 60’s and the DC5 and the Beatles supposedly were “competing” back in the day of Teen Magazines, etc. (um, there was no competition in the long run). So, no Journey references here…
Slow dial-up internet has slowed the uploading of the comic. I tried last night, but I guess to many teenagers were in their basements downloading porn for me to upload my little ol’ comic. It’s up now. Ah, Hi-Speed DSL tonight… sigh…

Nice!
Diggin’ the four-panel format… which of course was just three today… but you get the idea.
I wonder if the Beatles ever felt guilty about all the musicians that were crushed beneath their juggernaut. Not that I would, just wondering.
It’s not like other bands didn’t get work… hell, after 1966 the Beatles stopped touring so other bands didn’t even have to compete for gigs. Hardly anyone remembers the Dave Clark 5 or Jerry and the Pacemakers anymore, but they got work in the 60s. The Monkeys got work BECAUSE of the Beatles and Corporate America’s desire to cash in on that success.
But more importantly, women in ties are hella hot.
Don’t forget The Searchers, The Hollies, Freddie and the Dreamers…fab times. And I loved the Dave Clark 5, still do really.
Man, I can totally sympathize with internet and lack thereof. I recently moved, and thanks to comcast, I had to go a WHOLE WEEK without not ONLY internet, but NO cable or phone as well! Oh, the horror of it all! *sob*
the gang dressed up like this kinda reminded me of cheap trick’s first album (the self-titled one), which, coincidentally, came out in 1977. and its interesting that cheap trick was a chicago band too.
byron byron byron! good stuff happenin! happy st patty’s day (my boy is part irish thanks to his mom). anyway, at&t dsl sucks, but its cheap, thats why i use it! haha.
@Makkabee i totally went to your site looking for chicks in ties. so hot.
OMG,the girls look hot in those suits.
LOL! Dial up!
I remember having a LAN modem tied to a proxy server at the house so that I could do the Windoze updates on one PC and then do the others from the proxy cache so it wouldn’t take all freaking’ night.
I think I would just turn my PC off if I had to go back to dial up. But I guess you do what you gotta do.
Sorry for the late post, I’m on vacation this week and so I thought I’d catch up while the youngest one swims in the hotel pool.
Oh, yeah. I’m just old enough to know who the DC5 are, but really don’t remember any of there songs. The Beatles, on the other hand are a different story. 🙂
heh, had to read that twice, the first time I read it as MC5… totally different band
