Okay, you are about to ask “Byron, what in the hell has this got to do with 1977?” and the answer is absolutely nothing. But…
I’ve been super busy helping the farmers market, where my wife sells her pottery on a weekly basis, with their social media accounts and promotion. It’s working well, but it has eaten up a lot of my time since the market kicked off at the beginning of April. Now that I have it jumpstarted, that process will not eat up as much of my time.
Then, on top of that, today (April 18th, 2022, for those of you reading this at a later date) is my 40th wedding anniversary. And of course, today is the deadline for filing your 2021 taxes, and that ate up a lot of time in the past week too.
But good news! I have rewritten the comics where Sam from “Quantum Leap” takes over Robyn’s body to help get the repairs to Jeff’s burnt out house completed before the gang tears each other apart living together in Robyn and Lorraine’s small rental home. That will kick off at the beginning of May and I hope to have one page a week at that point. We’ll see how it goes.
So back to Roger and Jessica Rabbit. I actually drew this originally as Lorraine with Roger, but it didn’t seem right, so on Easter Sunday, I drug out the old drawing and updated it with Jessica instead. I was going to leave it unshaded, but then I found this cool “sparkle” brush in Clip Studio Paint (the drawing software I use) that made Jessica’s dress really pop off the screen. The short below is hilarious and shows the amount of effort put into these cartoons.

Well, the movie was set in 1947 and we know toons can age well. Nothing saying they wouldn’t be around 30 years later. Hope you had a happy Easter.
I’ve thought about doing era specific versions of the gang in pot-induced hallucinations. I did a film noir comic years ago and should do other styles now.
That would be very cool. Like flappers, zoot suits, noir and such. I’m sure the girls would look great in any style.

Happy Easter love the psychedelic flowers reminds me of a pink paisley mini dress with flowers worn to death looked so cute. Speaking of which love Jessica and Rodger Rabbit. Jessica with that sexy gown wasn’t bad she was just draw that way and the Easter eggs always give the women Easter eggs bought my sisters and mom them. I like hot cross buns and watching the local bunnies eating from my garden seeing bunny romance and in the summer a doe and her kits enjoying my strawberries. Lucky they aren’t bugs bunny going down south to get some carrots. Something tells me they aren’t a lot a old southern mansions, paddle wheel steamboats nor belles in your southern town . Then chased north of the Mason Dixon line by Yosemite Sam who ends up threatening the New York Yankees dugout in Chattanooga Tennessee. “First dang Yankee who leaves the dugout gets his head blown off.” It would be fun if Bud was dressed as Rodger Rabbit (though as Buddet a playboy bunny, Lorraine or Robyn as ether baby Herman’s mother or Jessica rabbit and Jeff as baby Herman wearing only a diaper and with the cutest bow. Then again Buddet, Lorraine and Robyn could all ether wear Jessica gowns or playboy bunny outfits leaving Jeff to grin and bare with only his diaper on Halloween burrrr. I guess it’s being teased by the in crowd one even lifted my skirt and so dream of the diapering them so diaper poor Jeff is the next best thing. I’ll give him a little love duga duga with your cute little toes.
Well, this did start off as Lorraine and Roger, so I may do that someday. Lorraine can rock Jessica’s dress just fine.
