Morning wood. Where would the world be without it? Seems Robyn and Bud are sharing the same thoughts. We’ll find out next Monday. The follow up for this comic is funny as hell. At least it is in my head. 🙂
I tried doing two comics per week and the load was too much. On top of that, I missed three days of taking my depression medication last week due to some financial hiccups. Good friend of mine pulled through for me and I got back on the meds Friday, but the withdrawal symptoms were HORRIBLE. Dizzy spells, nausea, headaches and more. Was not a fun time. With that, I have ended up really behind on a lot of things as my family life has been very busy of late with my youngest graduating High School and various projects that needed to be handled around the house.
But, I will get back on track here. I have a few commissions haunting me and I must get those knocked out as well. Enjoy some “Wood” and see you all next week. 🙂
I dunno why my mind works like this, but right now all I can think is…”You better make sure she finished the dump she was taking before you try anything”
Trust me, that tidal wave cleaned everything, and everyone, up nicely. You can rest assured that’s not an issue. 🙂
And I always find it interesting what pops into people’s minds when they read the comic, so thanks for sharing!
I have to say that Bud should take this one time chance, dream or no dream.
It’s no dream, and I believe Bud has every intention of making good on this. 🙂
Oh my! This might be the best way to wake from a flood and head trauma ever.
If only nurses at hospitals were so friendly…
Now, don’t send me nasty emails, I know nurses run the hospitals (my Mom was a licensed RN) and have much respect for them. 🙂
“Is that a harmonica in your pants or are you just glad to see me?”
In this case, Bud doesn’t play harmonica, so we’re going with the latter. 🙂
Thinking of you’s workin’ up my appetite, lookin’ forward to a little afternoon delight…
“Rubbin’ sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite
and the thought of rubbin’ you is getting so exciting
Sky rockets in flight
Afternoon delight…”
I have used that song title back in 2008. The song itself was overplayed so it doesn’t thrill me when I hear it now. 🙂
Greeeaattt…. even cartoon characters sport larger wood than I do! I’m just never going to measure up! [smirk]
As for scheduling Byron, make it easy on yourself. I’ve been doing “in production” cycles, where content becomes available as it’s finished & until the story is complete. I don’t promise anything other than the ability to follow the process of making the content. …. I have no idea if it’s working! [grin]
Well, I know I can do a page a week in “normal” cases. But lately life’s been full with a lot of stuff, and most of it good stuff. Which is a stark comparison to a year ago, so I really cannot complain.
I get more upset with myself as I truly love creating the comic, so when something gets in the way of that creative time, I get annoyed. Silly things like my son’s graduation, working on the house, mowing the damn lawn (again) and so on. 🙂
Since there aren’t any drums around, I guess Robyn needs to be banging something! 😀
*rim-shot*
Nice one! I may have to steal that one. 🙂
It would so suck for Bud if this turns out to be a dream within a dream situation. “Blueballsception.”
I swear to you on my Mother’s grave, this is NOT a dream. 🙂
The comic is really looking good! New inspiration? or software? or both? Those creative juices I was counting on a few months ago are really doing their job.. BTW I was re-reading some of your old strips and saw that you used to record music off the radio using a mic. With your experience with Heathkit and a soldering iron, did you ever just pop the case off the radio and tap the signal at the volume control and feed it into the line in jack on the recorder. In the late 60s and early 70s that was SOP. No background noise!
One, thank you for the compliment. Same software, new inspiration and motivation on my part to create better art.
As far as Heathkit & soldering goes, no, I wasn’t quite that motivated to wire stuff up like that. I just found it easier to mow more lawns and buy a better stereo! A money-eating habit I had until I got married. The big stereo rack bit the dust once I had kids. Sigh…
I did wire in a nice headphone jack onto my parents HiFi/TV console unit. Match the impedance and everything. Worked like a charm! Man, I was I could remember half that shit now. 🙂
it wouldn’t do you any good. I used to do component level troubleshooting and helped in R&D projects. Now I open up a box and instead of resistors, capacitors, transistors, etc. all you see is a board with a bunch of chips! Now at age 71 all I can troubleshoot is corrosion on a plug.
that makes things simpler, you just replace the board.
From the nipples poking through her top, I guess she’s glad to see him, too.
This time, yes. 🙂
Unless I am misreading things, you might want to edit some of the text in the fourth panel. “Was I in the that dream”.
Wow. Shows how powerful our minds are at showing us stuff the way we THINK it should be. I’ve looked at this page probably hundreds of times now with all the time it takes to complete one of these comics, plus I’ve read it many times here on-line, and not once did I EVER see that boo-boo.
Thanks for pointing it out, I shall correct it here shortly! 🙂
