I’m gonna close the story here. There are a few loose ends… like who bought the Olde Hemp 420 recipe from Lorraine and paid off their debt to the studio… but that can wait until the next story to come out.
I’m going to 1971’s “Wild Night” by Van Morrison, a Northern Irish singer who has a most distinctive voice and style. This version hit #28 on the ol’ Billboard Top 100, but it was John Mellencamp’s cover that went all the way to #3 back in 1994.
So Lorraine will finish her night sliding down a fireman’s…er…pole? Hee!
Lovely old Van song. Your favourite 1970s rock chicks used to open a lot of early live gigs with a fabulous kick-arse version of it. Wonder if anyone has evidence on tape still…
Hoping you have a fun, relaxing and safe holiday season!
Great chuckle to end the arc on! Robyn could have been saying the same thing in duet with Lorraine whilst grabbing her gal in uniform. I’ll just go ahead and fill it in that way in my imagination … 😉 😛
Thanks for a great run, Byron! 🙂 Have a real good Holidaze and Happy New Year. I’ll be counting the days ’til February & checking in occasionally to see if you toss up any surprises.
If you’ve got any old debris hanging around the studio or hard drive, such as might-have-been sketches or such from any of the last few years, they’d be quite welcome to fill the empty space. Not asking you to put yourself out with any extra work or anything, but if an opportunity or two arises that doesn’t eat into any of your other projects, it doesn’t hurt to refresh the page with content and keep the google fed.
And, BTW, no need to introduce Van Morrison for me … got about two dozen of his albums kicking around, especially the older stuff, and been enjoying them since right about 1977. Saw him live a couple times back in the early 1980s. I’ve got a strong leaning toward folk & roots music, with quite some fondness for Celtic/Gaelic flavored tastiness. 😀
Byron, Merriest or Christmas’s & Happiest of New Years to you, your family, loved ones, & all of the ’77ers! Enjoy & I’m sure we’ll enjoy anything you can post!
3Xp4t, like you I’ve got all of Van’s early stuff on vinyl (up to Wavelength, then a couple of his 80’s lp’s) & have always enjoyed his stuff as well. Thanks to my folks tho, I was aware of Van before he was Van, listening to Them on the RCA console in the mid-late 60’s as a kid. I’ll always have a preference & soft spot for Van with Them!
I can see Buds nipples and Lorraine looks cute in pink panties.
