And that was the worst thing, man… If you couldn’t get Frenched on the first date, it was like over already. Bummer for Chet… Let’s see how he does tomorrow!
“Welcome To My Nightmare” was not one of my favorite Alice Cooper albums (those would be Billion Dollar Babies & School’s Out) but the appearance Alice made on the Muppet show doing that song dressed as Dracula sure was cool. The Muppet show was THE show back then… hip and kid friendly all in one. Nothing like it ever since. I miss Jim Henson SO badly…
Trivia: Henson got his start doing TV commercials and one of his early efforts was for a Wilkins Coffee… not any relation but was cool to see my last name on TV, especially with a frog that would blow up the guy who didn’t’ drink Wilkins Coffee. Now those were the days when a TV commercial could promote killing people for not drinking coffee… ah, yes…
😀
I remember that episode of the Muppets. Man I loved that show. Still do, truthfully. (Yay, Netflix!) I don’t know if you made it to the Muppet 3-D movie last time you were here in Florida, but it is a must-see.
Also a Cooper fan here. Saw him in concert. Creepy and super-fun. No talking, which was weird. Wasn’t the saxophonist named Sam? Huge guy.
And hey! Funny comic! I so remember having those kinds of conversations with roommates the night after a date with a new girl. (Man I’m glad I’m married.)
Pete Aitken skewers A.C. on an album called “Live Libel”, co-authored by Clive James. The songs are a mixed bunch, all of them clever in their own way but you *really* had to be there in the 70s to “get it”. The sleeve notes for each track are hysterical.
The A.C. sendup was “Rattlesnake Rock” by Gladys Graveyard.
aww, poor guy has a floppy disc, huh? lol
Pong skills or Frogger? (Actually, Frogger was more 80’s – I think?)
1977 the comic is bringing back so many memories…
1972, Alice Cooper Schools Out tour at the Hollywood Bowl, my girlfriend, braless running up the stairs to our seat just as a helicopter flys over and drops 10,000 panties on or heads!
Yikes I needed more eyes…
