And let the penis jokes begin… Inspiration for this came from “Animal House” and a very similar scene… The “real” Chet (my real life friend) probably never used that particular pick-up line, but I know he thought about it… and I’m sure his Mr. Happy works just fine under pressure… 🙂
Aerosmith’s “Toys In The Attic” was/is their best album ever. And today’s title song was sung not only with tongue in cheek, but surely something else in someone’s cheek… A few FM stations in Chicago managed to play the song, even being as suggestive as it is. Google the lyrics if you are unfamiliar with the song. I love it… Toys In The Attic is also one of those rare albums that I can listen to the whole thing and not “skip” over a song. It’s that damn good…
PS: I did my best to draw a 1977 Datsun 280ZX in the final frame… the “real” Chet had a 1981 model I belive, but you get the point… We like cars in this comic!
😀
Random trivia about “Ten Inch Record” – there’s a line that sounds like he’s saying “…suck on my big 10″ record”, where in fact he’s saying ” ‘cept”, as in “except”. Although, no matter how many times Steven Tyler tried to tell people this, no-one believed him!
Well, Chuck, I would put myself in the non-believer column. One, I’m sure the explanation is merely a cover for what he’s really saying, two, come on… it’s Steven Tyler AND (once again) it was the 70s… Bands were pushing the limits of what “could be played” on the air all the time.
Even so, the song’s intent is SO obvious that single word doesn’t really change a whole lot anyway…
🙂
I think that’s strike two for Chuck with Robin…….
Anyone who would make a penis joke referring to their own junk as a “floppy” gets what they deserve. As long as what they get is embarrassing and a little icky. I mean, they wouldn’t be getting what they deserved if someone paid them, or gave them cookies… wait, I have some cookies… bye!
did that geeky pick up line work?…almost work?
