“It’s not my fault…” – Han Solo in “The Empire Strikes Back” when the Millennium Falcon’s hyperdrive isn’t working.
And being late with this page is partly not my fault, but the blame is always on the artist. We adopted a new puppy two weeks ago and it’s like having a baby again in the house where you have to get up in the middle of the night to let the dog outside. Luckily, babies crap in their diapers, so at least you’re not sitting outside in the cold, damp night waiting for it to poop or pee. That is a biggest part of the delay, but the other part, which IS my fault, is the drawing software I use, Clip Studio Paint EX, released a new version this week and I’ve been immersed in trying out new its features. I’m hoping the new 3D facial modeling will help speed up my process. Once I learn it…
During the summer of 1977, New York city was suffering from a sweltering heat wave and cheap hotels were not air conditioned. Thus the gang’s first night was a rough one. But, hamburgers for breakfast always make the day better. Lorraine’s expression in the final frame cracks me up.
As this comic was supposed to post on March 15th, I planned to use the Ides of March’s big hit single “Vehicle.” Even though it’s is late and not complete, I’m sticking with my choice. Great song and the group is from Chicago!
And how could I forget to post this song too? Curse this getting old stuff! I say, young man, it’s fun to stay at the YMCA!
Talk about making do with what you have…
Oddly enough, I had that one stuck in my head all day Wednesday
Today it’s these two…

But around 1977 it was this one….

When I was a boy (it *might* have been 1977!), we had a litter of puppies from our beloved family dog. We kept them only for six weeks before giving them away into – hopefully – loving hands. At that age, there was no thought of taking them outside for them to relieve themselves, but we could keep them in a part of the house with a robust PVC floor. It was my task to clean up the puddles and the poo in the morning. The little guys were so cute I didn’t mind at all. Amazing how gorgeous they looked with her Schnauzer bastard mother (also quite cute) and Zwergpinscher father.
We had a lot of fun with them and were sad when they were gone, but keeping them wasn’t an option. Thinking about it now, keeping one of the five might perhaps have been possible, but hey. I’d have wanted to keep Tarzan, the cutest of them with his black and white coat.
Hope their 1977 experience in New York doesn’t involve Son of Sam…
They should have taken the village people’s advice and stayed at the YMCA. Bruce Jenner did in the 1979 movie can’t stop the music. They can relax have a good time and hang out with the boys Lorraine and Robyn would be happy. I found two other New York city songs no sleep till Brooklyn by the Beastie boys. I befriended a DJ who spun the Beastie boys she left Mississippi it seemed they didn’t like the Beastie boys. She was the one with loop sided kayaks on her jeep so we entered a shopping mall parking lot tied up the kayaks in sleet. But my mini skirt climbed high so the prev camera got a cheap trill seeing my under ware. The other song is bad girls NYC by princess super star her real name is Concetta Kirschner did one of her other songs Princess super star in a drag show. The audience preferred Dolly Parton and Reba to princess super star and Willa Ford wonder what country singer have that pop singers don’t. Love puppies they are so cute and fun to play and walk with since I sit on the floor with Grace and Max they think I’m another dog so bowowowow.
One year too early for the debut of Klaus Nomi! I’d have given just about anything to have been in New York in the summer of 78.
I have been putting off this comment but it really bugs me. Should’nt there be a bit of TP square showing on the left under Jeff’s arm?
