It turns out Jeff becomes an engineer for NASA that heads up the project that SLAMMED a multi-million dollar mission into the surface of Mars because someone, just someone, didn’t convert metrics into english measurments. “Next version for SURE we’ll get it right…” Or he’ll become a Microsoft software developer…
Haven’t seen Annie in a while, and you really didn’t see her today either. I have a BIG hatred of Big Wheels. Not becasue they came out too late for me to enjoy them, but because the little “sweethearts” of my old apartment complex would dart these damn things out behind my car as I’m backing up late for class. I really wanted to toss them into the trash, but I ended up playing with them and just breaking them! Revenge is a dish best served cold…
Today’s title is on Deep Purple’s “In Rock” album from 1970. Some say it was their best effort. I give that nod to “Fireball” and not to “Machine Head” even though it sold a ton of albums. That’s me. I am a huge fan of lead singer Ian Gillian’s voice. I can pick him out everytime. Not only that, I can understand him too!
🙂
Hmmm – I’ve been trying to encourage a couple of local rock bands that I go to see to cover Highway Star, may have to add speed king to the list
Considering the lack of brakes, I might’ve figured Jeff would be a drag race designer…… hopefully he’ll remember the parachute next time…
Good strip! The motion panel is excellent really works well!
As for brakes, huh, brakes are for wimps! 😉 Oh yeah, and girls! Oooops!
I was a Green Machine man myself.
BTW, as long as we’re not on the subject, I really liked the sketch version of Gentlemen Take Polaroids. It felt warm and organic.
I saw Deep Purple in concert once. I bothered me that my mom wanted to go too.
Thanks! I liked this one too! And I think a parachute will be in Annie’s future given Jeff likes to run around in a Batman costume!
🙂
RE: Kevin – Ah, the Green Machine… another damned toy I’ve nearly run over by accident. Ever seen a Big Wheel after a 1969 Chevy V8 runs it over? Not for the faint at heart…
You know, regarding the sketch version of the “Polaroids” comic, I like the sketch versions of my comics sooo much better than the inked versions. First, it is obvious I am not trained at inking cartoons. I’ve considered taking some courses, but none are available near Chicago, believe it or not. So, the pencil versions are my preference too, and given today’s environment, there is no reason why I can’t put up the sketch versions. It could be “my style” so to speak.
Not inking would cut my production time like in half or better, and that I would like so I could do 4 or 5 strips a week. I have a lot to say sometimes, and stretching it out over weeks gets annoying.
So, all you readers. More content in a cleaned up sketch version or continue in the current style? I’ll put up a post about it… and see what comes of it.
🙂
Just wondered… if you’re a Gillan fan, did you like Sabbath’s Born Again album? Just wondering (’cause I am one the few that did!)
I LOVED Gillian with Sabbath. Not knocking Ozzy, but he did a great job and fit their sound really well. I have that CD and it rocks!
I;vebeen meaning to check out born again for ages! I heard the drummer was awesome on that as well.
Is it me or is that kinda a Flash red/yellow color scheme? Appropriate.
Hello, Obi-Wan, you’re our only hope… And yes, it is Flash colors. I’m a Flash fan. 🙂
