The finale is finally here. Thank you all for being patient with me as I continue to struggle with my depression.
One last cameo as Tom Hanks and Wilson are left behind on the island. Different ending this time. FedEx will not be happy. I was going to draw the skeleton surrounded with FedEx boxes, but when I found this pose of a bent over skeleton, I opted to leave the boxes out. I may change my mind, I’m funny that way.
If you’re around my age (pushing 60) and you don’t have the album “Who’s Next” in your collection, what is wrong with you? And if you’re a youngster out there, go buy “Who’s Next” and bask in the glorious rock that only Pete Townshend and crew could create.
What’s more difficult to draw? Wilson, or a bunch of FedEx boxes?
Challenge accepted. 🙂
And noted.
My best friend suffers from depression from time to time. Try to go out of your way to find things that are funny to you, Marx Brothers, 3 Stooges. Jeff Foxworthy, Cheech and Chong, anything you like. Try to look up. Your art is very entertaining and it’s important to look back to the 70’s and laugh about it again.
Thank you! Yes, it’s hard to keep those ugly thoughts out of my head. The demons win some days. I do try to distract myself with some entertainment on YouTube, and that does help until I’ve noticed I’ve been on YouTube for like 4 hours. I have to say it is getting better as my understanding of what’s happening and how to deal with it increases.
Ahh, the true ending to the Castaway story, not the glammed up Hollywood version 🙂
Yeah, he would have been dead in a short period of time. Lack of food and water, plus that abscessed tooth would have either bled him out or killed him from the infection. It was a fun crash scene though. 🙂
Congratulations on finishing a great story! (Once the coloring gets finished) 😉
I’m looking forward to see what happens in the 70’s next. 😀
I’m taking on the Big Apple next with a lot of surprises in that one too.
Oh good, from the text under the comic, I thought you meant the finale of the whole strip and that made me sad. Good to know there’s more coming.
No, no. Not retiring yet. The New York story will be epic. At least it is in my head. 🙂
Great conclusion to this tale from 1977. It almost makes me wonder: I wonder how the gang would do in a 70’s Blaxploitation film parody?
Don’t get ahead of the class now… they’re headed to New York next. Hmmm… 🙂
On the other side of the cliff, was Tom Hanks career! …. that’d be funny if he was a washed up actor, I’m sure of it! [grin]
Great story, I like the past/present aspect.
Thanks, man. 🙂
Ah I see you did change your mind about the boxes! Am I really pathetic in never having seen that movie?
“Castaway” is one of those films my wife likes. It was okay. Hanks went through some incredible changes to lose all that weight for the role. So, you’re fine if you’ve never seen it. YouTube the crash sequence. That was cool.
And yeah, I was just being lazy not putting in the boxes. It drives home the joke a bit more. 🙂
