Hey, when your comic’s slogan starts with “sex”, then you better cough it up once in a while. The guys are in full swing and I’m going a tad NSFW on this one.
This was a fun and simultaneously hard comic to do. Doing silhouettes properly takes time. You have to draw the characters then draw the items “over them” on separate layers. I then use a 50% fill in Photoshop to create the transparent look. I even filled in the shadows of the tub’s outline! Then there’s editing the two versions. I had to touch up 5 of the 8 panels for the “R” and “PG-17” versions. A lot of work that I normally don’t have time for, but I wanted to experiment with this one.
RECAP: No, I haven’t forgotten the guys have girlfriends waiting for them back at home. Yep, we haven’t seen Lily or Rose in a while and their return is nearing. Chaos ensues I’m sure. And let’s not forget the $50,000 they owe in the Studio’s Lawsuit. Plus, Bud’s got to consider Maureen’s job offer. He’s got a lot on his mind (well, he should have)! I’ve got some stories to tie together and that’s coming up after the guy’s “wild” weekend at ISU.
Led Zeppelin II is one of those albums that holds up 40 years later. Today’s pick is “Lemon Song” which got me suspended from the close-circuit radio station we had in high school. During lunch hours a group of us “DJs” were selected to play songs. Learned how to cue up records on “real” turntables and everything. Anyway, since it was only broadcast into the Cafeteria, I figured what’s wrong with playing this song? “Squeeze my lemon until the juice runs down my leg” got me tossed off for a while and set up a “standards” for song content. A rebel at 17. Enjoy but like today’s comic may not be great for the cubical. Hey, if you’re reading this comic at work, you know what you’re in for!

Shouldn’t we see her legs in that sixth panel? If not, congrats on the crazy Kama Sutra stuff.
All in all though, yeah, I see you put in a lot of work here. Nice job!
I suspect that the appropriate music for panel 6 might just be Willie Dixon’s ‘Back Door Man’. The Doors’ version will do nicely 😉
The orientation of the hands suggests that the girl is supine rather than prone, though. Of course, if those are the *other* girl’s hands….
Bingo….
You devil you! 🙂 That’s what that song means to *me* at least…
Given that most old blues lyrics were code phrases/words for ~cough cough~ sexual activity, I suspect that’s what it meant to Willie Dixon too 😛
Exquisite! Especially all the attention to little details. It’s just a shame we don’t get to see Thor’s mighty hammer…
😀
But is the world ready for Thor’s Hammer? I don’t think so…
But I aim to please so let me know folks… (well, I know *you’re* opinion already!)
🙂
I’d rather see Thor’s Hammer than the forthcoming Thor fillum any time!
“I’ll remember to feed you first next time” niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.
Best line in the comic I think… 😛
I just want to say how much I love “Mrs. Robinson’s” hair in panel 5. Also the curve of her back. Oh yeah, and her ass.
That woman in that pose would make a great pin-up.
You wish is my command. I was thinking of doing something along that lines anyway, and well, I just did. 🙂
Water beds make any activity an aerobic exercise, never mind bringing a whole new meaning to “water sports”! o.O This has to be one of your finest Byron ! I could go an and one with double entendres here! *smirk*
Thanks Mr. Jynksie! I had a great time doing it, so I was hoping it would hit the mark with readers too. Thus far, yes…
😛
Yes, the venerable water bed… No other piece of furniture defined the 70’s better than the water bed (except maybe the beanbag chair?…), and yes jynksie, they did indeed bring a whole new meaning to “water sports”! It was the very first thing I bought when I headed out on my own at 18, never mind the fact that they were uncomfortable, prone to “mattress malfunctions”, & a bitch to break down & set up when you moved (which for me was often during my late teens & twenties), I HAD to have one – the ultimate necessity for the “with-it’ rock’n’roller… And, to top it off, after sleeping on one for 20 years, it is I suspect, largely responsible for the chronic back pain in my life 15 years after getting rid if it! As for ‘Zep II – to this day my favorite by them, & definately one of the “if you could only have 10 albums…” picks. If you wanted to experience the sonic version of Thor’s Hammer, “Whole Lotta Love” cranked to the max would absolutely do it!
Hey Unclemac! Good to hear from you (or did I just forgot you commented recently… the 70s were hard on me).
And, given enough time, the water in the damn bed would get all icky from the heater and you’d have to drain the water and clean the damn thing like a fish tank. I bought one water bed when we first got married and it had all the bells and whistles… and still was a pain in the butt (and back).
But like the custom van, water beds were a trademark of the 70s, especially us bachelors.
Zep II rocks hard, man and is one of those “must have” albums!
Stopping in for the first time, thought I’d say “hey”. This is Good stuff!
Waterbeds… one of those things that seemed like a good idea at the time yet the destruction of my lower back told me otherwise. Don’t think I’ve heard Led ZepII in years, but Led Zep I sounds pretty good on the vinyl
on my old console stereo!
Hey Jerry! You picked a helluva a day to drop by for the first time! Not normally this much skin… well, yes there is, but not in this form.
🙂
I gotta go with Zep II. The first album is good, but II just blows it out of the water IMO.
Thanks for stoppin’ by and Welcome to the Party Pal!
😛
Ok so I thought he was exaggerating when he called…it as Thor’s mighty hammer……..apparently he wasn’t
The broken bed frame reminds me of my friend. She broke hers a lot. haha
Heya Byron, no you haven’t “misremembered”, I haven’t commented in a while – very busy here at work & haven’t had time to respond on my lunch breaks like I’m doing now, but things are back to more-or-less normal, & I’ve got my breaks back to be able to fully absorb & enjoy your offerings! Things have also been super tight financially, but I will hopefully be able to re-up on my subscription soon, too. I hear ya about the 70’s being tough on us – probably a good thing that we weren’t quite old enough to party the entire 70’s or we wouldn’t have survived to party through the entire 80’s!
Wasn’t justins comic supposed to premier today. Looking forward to reading it.
It did over at http://spacejocks.com/ He’s got his own domain (well, the old man set it up for him). Thanks for remembering! He’ll appreciate the visit!
🙂
Great work!
Zep has been back in my consciousness lately. Not sure who covered who, but heard Pat Travers today on Pandora doing “How Many More Times”. I guess Zep is the originator of that one if my quick read of Wikipedia (a rock solid research source) is any indicator.
Rock on Byron!
Found it, thanks for the link
