I commented to someone that when in Bud’s position, running was the best option. But, he wasn’t fast enough (no shoes).
I laugh out loud at the third frame every time. I love “Tom & Jerry” cartoons when they get hit with a shovel or something and it leaves their impression in the metal. And they cut that stuff out of cartoons today.
“Run Like Hell” from “The Wall” Floyd’s last great album. Yeah, yeah, it was in 1979, but it still fits. Love the line “If we find you in the back seat trying to pick her locks, we’re gonna send you back to mother in a cardboard box… you better run.”
On that note, have a happy thanksgiving. A comic will appear tomorrow and it’s a nice one for the day! 🙂
I wasn’t going to comment, because I am a terribly lazy plank, but I just had to comment on this on.
You said he couldn’t run fast enough without shoes, but seeing as that ground doesn’t look covered in tonnes of sharp rocks, then it should make no difference (unless he’s a “cidiot” who has never run on ground before without shoes). 😛
Nice details on the ripped edges, by the way.
“on this one” I meant “on this one” *eye roll*
So you’ve incorporated a banned Looney Toons moment, redneck stereotyping, and matching underwear?
MAN I love this comic!
RJ: You hit it on the nose… Bud is from Chicago and most neighborhoods have little to no grass… for sure nothing like small rural towns, so Bud is not experienced at running around “barefoot and care-free”!
Kevin: Well, if you’re going to offend people, do it all the way…
You noticed the matching underwear! That’s subtle too!
Oh, I’ve actually had encounters with rednecks like this (not in this exact situation) and they pretty much swing first and ask questions later.
🙂
LMAO. I love the Tom and Jerry moment! Didn’t see that one coming. 🙂
Yay Pink FLoyd! I grew up on Tom and Jerry stuff. It’s been deemed to violent now hasnt it… which is a massive shame. I loved that show lol i’m going to buy boxsets or something for my kids if I ever have any.
good comic 😀
Here in the USA there’s been a couple box set DVDs released of early “Tom & Jerry” and it comes with a video message from Whoopi Goldberg mainly saying how the early cartoons depicted blacks in a very non-flattering way (I also think they picked on a number of stereotypes as they are CARTOONS… duh). Anyway, they are uncut and you get the violence and all. I mean, we watched “Road Runner” cartoons to see the Coyote fall off cliffs and go “smack” every week.
And it seems I have this unusual desire to jump off cliffs now… 😀 If they had an icon that rolled it’s eyes, I’d insert it here…
