Yeah, I had to go and make a comic with lots of dramatic shading. First frame was fun to do, but time consuming. Hey, still got it done just in the nick of time.
Now you know how and who made their loin cloths. Seems many of you were inquiring or commenting on what happened to their clothes. Most of them were burnt up with the plane. I did mention it in the comic where Robyn finds the field of hemp. And we’ll get back to the hemp next week.
I also wanted to wrap up what was going on with the pilots. Not much luck for them.
Somewhere in 1977, REO Speedwagon released a live album. I’m not a fan of live albums, but this track is tolerable. It was and is still over played, but it fits today’s comic nicely!
It certainly seems a tit bit nippley, indeed! [smirk] … that last panel was hilarious. Maybe they can use the boat as a toothpick?!
More like the oars… 🙂
Man, Sherman’s Lagoon sure got dark over the years…
LOL! I had completely forgotten about that comic strip! I don’t subscribe to daily or Sunday newspapers anymore (they’re a waste of time and money), so I’m not up on “current” comics in the papers.
The mystery of where Lorraine got another “outfit” solved.
Ah, indeed it is. This is why I like doing my pages as they post. If I had a month’s buffer, I’d never be able to react to reader input like I do. This comic was not originally planned, but I made good use of it anyway by killing off the pilots (which they were going too anyway).
Leave it to Lorraine to be the one chewing down on those wieners!
I was hoping someone would notice that!
🙂
Second random Disney cameo in this story in the last panel? Or is that just some regular old nameless crab under the sea?
Yep, that’s my terrible rendering of Sebastian. I didn’t want to draw him dead-on, as I’ve already ripped Disney once in this story line, so he’s kinda a cross of stuff you’d see in Spongebob. It’s okay, but it was like 1:00am when I added him, so it looked good then.
🙂
I was thinking of those Sharks from Finding Nemo. Bruce was the name of one of them.
Liking the pointy bits, it IS cold there eh 🙂
It is always cold in 1977. 🙂
Man, Byron, everything is looking amazing over here. You’ve been going all out with your artwork as well as your storytelling, man!
Thanks, George! I’ve been trying to up my game by doing just weekly pages. Gives me more time to layout the comics and the shade them the way I like. I’m very happy with my current style and it seems to serve me well. 🙂
Share some with the little red crab you mean grumpy selfish sharks no wonder the little guy is crabby.
