I was reading some rants on Facebook (what else is on Facebook besides kitty videos) and 1977 reader Carey was chatting about how she and another woman were discussing birth control pills when the woman tossed out the notion that sex is ONLY for procreation. And today’s comic was born. Pun intended. Carey was also the latest Patreon supporter and I let her pick today’s song of the day. Rather appropriate considering the subject matter.
I wasn’t planning on doing any regular comics, but this idea hit me and I had to draw it. So, we’ll see it goes. I am still not in a place to make any commitments yet (and what guy really is?), so I’ll continue to take it a week at a time.
Par for course with me, I’ve added in some tiny jokes in Bud’s newspaper. Note Superman is just under his hand. The sport image is Wrigley Field and the bases are loaded… with the opposing team, as per usual with the Cubs. And the main photo is just a girl and two guys chatting. I literally just draw a scribble in that box and it looked like hair. And bingo, you have three people talking. Not much for the lead photo on a major metropolitan newspaper, but it makes up for it with a Superman story.
1977 produced a lot of good music and Mr. Meatloaf himself was one of the highlights of the year. The video also proves that rock chicks did not wear bras (as did a lot of other women).
