Let’s all try and forget October even existed. It was a terrible month. But it’s done and over. I peaked early in the month with a fantastic trip to New York to meet up with a ton of my comic pals, but after that it was total crap. Shit happens, but I’m back.
Sorry for all the interruptions, but that’s life with a depressed artist. But to help me out is comic pal and Manga Studio whiz-kid Liz Staley of “Adrastus” comic. She’s inking my comics now and whips them out in a fraction of the time it took me. This helps immensely as inking a comic was one of those road-blocks that always slowed me down. I love penciling, and the coloring is always fun, but inking was just BORING. Now Liz is doing the inking and doing a fantastic job. Go say hello to her on Twitter and checkout her comic “Adrastus”.
For those of you too young to remember the movie “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”, there’s a great scene where Butch is attempting to blow open a safe on a train, and uses a tad too much. The clip is below for your reference. Redford and Newman are just a great acting team in this film.
I was trying to come up with a song for today’s comic, and sometimes that’s the hardest part of making these posts. I finally settled for “Killer Queen” by Queen, even though it was Jeff that actually scored the kill.
Poor guy, here’s hoping he makes it out okay because that must’ve hurt. Also, I agree as that was a clever reference to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid.
I may have never seen the full film, but I’m guessing something similar happened in the movie as well. Based upon the clip of the film you’ve provided it must’ve been some explosion with that much dynamite.
Love “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”! Great chemistry from Redford and Newman and a fun film. And yes, it was a lot of dynamite. 🙂
The “Mild Kingdom” guys will be fine. 🙂
Well, nobody important got hurt anyway. 😉
Exactly. 🙂
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is one of the ones we made the kids sit down and watch! (Now they get the joke when I say, “Can I move?” just before planting one in the triple-20!)
It was one of the first films I studied how it was made. Even had a paperback version that was the actual filming script. One of those must-see films for sure. 🙂
Happy to see you back on the storyline.
Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few
September, November
And these few precious days I’ll spend with you
These precious days I’ll spend with you
And the wine dwindles down to a precious brew
September, November
And these few vintage years I’ll spend with you
These precious years I’ll spend with you
—See? Even Tony Bennett skipped October…
Perhaps I’ll make it a habit from here on out to just take a long vacation in October. I could sit on a beach for a month these days. 🙂
Dude, your art is just getting better and better. Keep rockin on buddy.
Thank you! That’s always nice to hear! I have been trying to up my game of late. Glad you noticed!
Great film. I prefer “The Sting,” but YMMV.
“The Sting” is a good movie, but I’ve always leaned toward the Butch Cassidy film. The interplay of the two is better in the western setting, at least for me.
