You can bet that kid won’t be getting his Dad’s car anytime soon… Icing interruptus for sure. It also seems metal in 1977 cartoonland is much softer and pliable as it apparently takes on the shape of whatever strikes it hard enough. Hmmm… need some of that for my car’s hood!
This comic is one that really screams for a professional colorist who really knows how to make things pop. I’m getting better, but man, I gotta get some training on digital coloring. So, if anyone out there wants to take a crack at coloring and shading this comic, I’d be happy to spread the word around or help a student add something kinda cool to their portforlio. What better thing to show a potential employer but a rock chick with her boobs plastered to a windshield? Hey, I’d buy that for a dollar…
We finish up with Robyn’s escapades tomorrow. Been an interesting week getting five comics done. But I felt this “action” sequence ran better without interruptions (heh).
Great song for today’s comic! Yes, I’ve used it before, but damn, it fit perfectly. Plus it’s a good song and deserving of a second play!

ahhh… you’ve captured that 70’s orange car colour perfect as well, byron. 😀
As I suspected, Robyn did, indeed, land on somethings soft. Ouch! Poor girl’s gonna be bruised with that one. That’s a lot of real estate to have all sore. I’m feelin’ for you dear … wish I could ease your pain!
I want one of those for my windscreen please! (OK, actually I want the two of them! 😉 )
I love this comic, and yes, mainly because of the boobs! 😀
Well I’m a man and I ain’t dead yet….
LOL
Keep ’em coming mate!
Finally! Someone else who uses that line. I was starting to feel like I was the only one who ever saw Robocop. You rock!
Good thing those boobs are real or they would have popped.
Phillipe the 2 does a lot of recoloring etc of other folks stuff.
He used to be on DA but got into a fight with some hack that torpedoed him and got him kicked off. his website is http://phillipthe2.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html?zx=7523be596ad70bf1
and btw… cheesy colors? no sir. the mopar high impact colors in the 70’s were the best. Sub-Lime is my favorite. i have a 68 roadrunner in that color. Hemi Orange, Sassy Grass Green, Top Banana Yellow, Plum Crazy Purple. Great names and anything but cheesy. The plad seats did suck though…
Don’t forget the best name for one of the plainer colours… “come and get me Copper”
I think your coloring works well. What kind of look were you hoping to achieve?
One day I’d love to do a comic with Dresden Codak-like coloring, but it would just take way too long to execute.
Ouch. That’s gonna leave a mark.
Oh, yeah – it already did… on the car!
Now, THAT’S what you call a hardbody. (Or better yet, a hard top.)
Someone at the cake-delivery company’s gonna get their asses beat…
Safety cushions!
Hard body indeed, but I’m glad they’re all hers! Thankfully, I came of age & sowed my wild oats before implants were en vogue… I’ll take naturally endowed any day!
By the way Byron, the Brits’ hood, is “bonnet”. I think they do use “hood”, but it refers to the convertible top if I remember right. Lots of differences in auto terminology: “boot” = trunk, “accumulator” = battery, “dynamo” = generator, “silencer” = muffler, “gearbox” = transmission, “wing” = fender, and on and on. Don’t even start on tools…
I have the Knack’s Good Girls Don’t, on a 45. I feel old now. If I had hair I’d pull it out.
