Reviewers suck. Those who can’t, write reviews. Love Lorraine’s innocent view of the world, which completely revolves around her. I’m sure Plan 9 will get better reviews here soon.
UPDATE 2014: New Godzilla movie coming out soon… so here’s the trailer for it. I’m so looking forward to this movie.
Also, let’s enjoy some BOC as they sing of Tokyo being destroyed.
I think there bodacious! π
I draw them and I think they’re bodacious…
π
i’d be jumping for joy if i had ever gotten a review like that.
You know, as I read it now, it’s actually a GREAT review for a rock band. Damnit… I suck.
π
Yeah, any publicity is good, right? I don’t think any band I ever played in got reviewed at all that I can remember… BOC – one of my favorites, always had a strong sci-fi/mythology/paranormal angle – sci-fi/fantasyauthor Michael Moorcock contributed lyrics, & alot of their songs are about or reference sci-fi/mythology/paranormal. Fun stuff indeed!
In an unrelated note altho you have used Doobie Bros. songs Byron, RIP to early Doobie Bros. drummer Michael Hossack who died Monday this week of cancer. He was an early favorite & influence on me, & drummed on all of their early & biggest hits like “Black Water”, “China Grove”, “Listen To the Music”, “Jesus Is Just Alright…”, “Long Train Runnin'”, & my all time favorite Doobies song, “Road Angel”, which he also co-wrote. Rock on Michael!
Aw man, bummer about Hossack. We are at that age where our era’s rockers are gonna start dropping like flies.
I’ll have to dig up a Doobie’s song for Friday.
Go deep for it, dude. Toulouse Street, one of my favorite albums, along with Stampede. Mamaloi, White Sun, Cotton Mouth some great showcase tracks w/ Hossack. Cotton Mouth in particular some funky stuff. From The Captain and Me, a masterpiece of an album, Clear as the Driven Snow, Busted Down Around OβConnelly Corners and Ukiah … because I want to name some great stuff that rarely ever got its dues in airtime, and ignoring (for the moment) great tracks from Stampede only because Hossack wasn’t on that album.
Bio for the man: http://www.doobiebrothers.net/biography/michael-hossack/
Damn, but that’s painful news. π
I’d only be disturbed by that review if say, I were the lead singer! [blinks] [grin]
Well, I can see if YOU were the lead singer. Not having actually seen your Moobs, I can surely bet Lorraine’s are better looking.
π
Hahahah! Well, any publicity is good publicity. And boobs sell unfortunately xD!
I’m just getting to this webcomic but I’m intrigued so far :3.
Welcome aboard! Glad to have you along for the ride. Lots here, so drop back any time.
π
Wow din’t beat around the bush with that at all.
Critics can be a cruel beast to tame. Piss them off, and you’ll never live it down.
One of my favorite BΓC songs being Veteran of the Psychic Wars. Epic cameo appearance on the soundtrack for Heavy Metal. Because, BΓC was one of those bands that grabbed me for its crossover into heavy psychedelia from its roots metal base, very much like Zeppelin. I’m much more a Grateful Dead/Pink Floyd type of guy for the era, with leanings into the original Airplane, Zappa and King Crimson. So, yeah, BΓC was All Good. π
King Crimson… there’s a group you rarely hear about. Yeah, those are all great examples of psychedelic rock groups.
π
You should check out early Hawkwind, then, if you haven’t already (just don’t listen to their debut first). They sound like a cross between BΓC and Pink Floyd, and [i]Space Ritual[/i], their first live album, is the best album I’ve ever heard.
Argh, why do I have such a hard time remembering when to use BBCode and when to use HTML?
Hey, a Godzilla comparison is a compliment in my book!
Well, in many ways, I agree… I suck at writing bad reviews it seems…
Godzilla rocks, man…
π
” Iβm sure Plan 9 will get better reviews here soon.”
This about the group that according to VH1 did the sixth worst album from the 1970s…
BTW, did all the entries from the list solicited at https://1977thecomic.com/1977-comics/i-want-a-new-drug/ ever get compiled? I’d love to see the results of that some day…
Oh no! They said (they’d) got to go!
interesting that VOTPW was the only track on “Fire of Unknown Origin” that wasn’t written with “Heavy Metal” in mind. “Vengeance – The Pact” was the obvious shoe-in for the Ta’aarna fantasy sequence, but for some reason never made it to the film…
Well shit. Now I feel terrible for spending half my career writing reviews and critiques.
LOL! Sorry. Having been on the receiving end of some snarky reviews, I’m a bit biased. π
