I use to eat an entire package of Oreos when the munchies kicked in. Seems Bud has picked up that trait…
1973 was a great year musically, and one of the over-looked albums that year was Bachman Turner Overdrive’s first album. It rocks for about 33 minutes and there’s not a “skip that” song in the entire set. It opens with a great tune called “Gimme Your Money Please” a true story of how bass player CF Turner got held up in New York by a drunk who actually said “please” while ripping CF off. I love the song.
More coming! 5 updates in a row this week, and I think this may be a pace I can keep. Let’s see how the new job pans out. 🙂
My munchies was usually for cheese, just had to have it
He he! My munchies were for anything edible within reach! Which usually meant nothing in the fridge and a quick trip to the local burger bar!
Good to see a regular daily strip! Hope you can keep this up!
Bob long
Now it’ll be interesting to see what the robber does while Bud’s sleeping…..
I’m with Bob on the munchies thing. LOL. God, I’m afraid to see where this one goes.
In ’84 a drinking buddy was subject to an apathetic almost mugging in East Side NYC.
He was walking home in high dugeon over some personal problem, music blasting from his Walkman (remember them?) and saw someone waving a gun across the street and yelling.
He pulled of his headphones and snapped “What?”, and the guy, nonplussed yelled “I *said* I’m pointing a gun at you!”
“I know” said my buddy, re-donned his headphones and continued on his way.
My own technique was to turn the English accent up to “11” (aka “Doing a Dick Van Dyke”) and act as though I had no idea what the crumb-bums wanted. It worked every time.
NYC. Had to love it in the early 80s.
Hahaha! If you wanna mug me, you gotta impress me first. This one’s really funny.
*laughs*
My first wife and I once consumed two 12-inch Subway sandwiches, a whole 1-pound bag of tortilla chips and the better part of a two-liter bottle of soda while undergoing serious cannibian munchitude. Might I note that she stood 5’8 and about 105 pounds in her bare feet, and I was about 5’11” and 160 pounds in mine. Where’d all that food GO?!? Did the Pot Genie eat it?
Regarding BTO, they were the first rock concert I ever saw – Heart, Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Prisim in 1978. That show was my first exposure to pot, by way of the clouds of leafy goodness drifting through the Capitol Center arena (site of the documentary Heavy Metal Parking Lot, shot a few years later). Wheeeeee!!!
LOL, I can see the difference the job makes in the amount you’re posting here. That’s okay tho… I’m thinking we’ll all make the adjustment just fine.
