For those of you (me) who weren’t in the know… in 1977 Russia controled Latvia and the locals weren’t too thrilled with the Russians hanging around. Thus, singing “Back In The U.S.S.R.” might have ticked a few of them off. Maybe not… but I thought it funny none the less.
Damn, Tuesday was one of those days we all have. Tons of things to get done and not enough time to do them all. Then, on top of that, I turned this comic from a simple 3-panel into a complex 4-panel with blurred backgrounds, extras, etc., etc. I bit myself in the butt, and I am one to rant when a webcomic artist misses deadlines. Okay, shoot me now… I’ll be quiet on others being late.
Wednesday we check out of Latvia and head for home. Enjoy! 🙂
HAHAHAHAHAHA! I laughed out loud when I read the last panel! Love it!!! 😀
I was hoping to have hit the mark on this one… and it seems I did! Thanks Aleks!
Love the differing focal points in panel 3. That’s a good look.
It’s almost more amusing that ANYONE had the presence of mind to think that song would be a bad idea.
RE: the blurring… I did it for two reasons… one, to bring focus to the foreground, and two, to hide the fact that the band and viewers were drawn very quickly. I was rushing to get this one done! When I do this fulltime (one of these days) I can put more into each comic.
Oh, Bud’s the groups conscious, but no one listens… I was never that “quick” to make a difference. By the time I noticed something was wrong, the anvil had already fallen. 🙂
Trust Jeff to do something foolish like play the Beatles back in the USSR in Lativa. Gee you think after being invaded in 1939 by Stalin then 1941 by Hitler and in 1944 by Stalin again it would be the last song they should play. Poor Fyodor Vladimir is really going to get him for this.
