The Polaroid SX-70 made the 70s even more wild and crazy as “swinging” folks would exchange fun little photos of each other. Today we just text these to our friends.
I haven’t done a full-on boob joke in a while and felt I’d wrap the first week of 5 updates with a little treat for those folks who enjoy Lorraine’s boobs as much as I do drawing them. Though getting those damn curves right is big pain in the ass. Speaking of asses… Bud’s is in there for a little equal time for those readers who enjoy a little tushie now and then.
Unfortunately, this comic is more true than I’d like to admit. Somewhere out there a former girlfriend who owned a Polaroid has a shot very similar to the pose that Bud is in. It seemed like a funny idea at the time. Ever look at your own butt? Not a pretty site. To that former girlfriend: should you ever stumble by this comic… burn that Polaroid. Thank you. Not that I care you having it or anyone seeing it, but come on… ewww!
Okay the bottom featured in today’s comic is neither fat, nor a girl’s, but I get a kick out of this song’s lyrics so that’s why I picked it.
Hey, wait⦠does Bud get to take any pictures now?
Drawing boobs is really fun, indeed but…
I haven’t told you the story behind Robyn’s cameo in the Drunken Fools…
I did the majority of the inking in a pub last week. The waiter was very impressed with my Tablet PC and whenever he had some free times, he was tagging along and watching me draw.
At some point he told this to a very attractive waitress and told her to come see what I was doing… guess what, she sowed up at the exact moment I had Robyn’s boobs zoomed in on my tablet PC….
Great timing………….
π
LOL!! I can’t imagine why. Great week
Actually, Freddie was omnisexual, and the song was written by Brian May, supposedly based on his real-life experiences and predilections. For some odd reason, my Dad loved that song; he used to be a big Queen fan, and his music tastes – unusually eclectic in a guy from his generation – ranged from doo-wop to techno to psychedelic rock – deeply influenced my own. I mean, how many ’70s generation kids can say they first saw Rush, Van Halen and Jethro Tull with their fathers? (For Kiss, however, I was on my own…) Funny timing – Dad and I were just chatting about music last night, and he’s the one who turned me on to Queen in the first place!
Heck, I’d spend a few bucks on her myself. Great strip!
RE: Antoine – Yes, I was drawing a strip last year where Bud transforms from being a guy to a girl, and you of course start off with naked sketches. My then 11 year old son walks in and we had a fairly comical exchange. You can read it by clicking here: https://1977thecomic.com/2008/06/04/06042008/
So, was the waitress impressed? Or did you get slapped? π
You know, I wouldn’t have ever noticed Bud’s ass if you hadn’t have pointed it out. π I really had to go back to see what you were talking about.
RE: tcorbett – What? She’s holding a Polaroid? Oh… yeah… π
