Never underestimate the power of Rock and Roll... especially when it comes to daughters. Beating a lawyer at his own game is the best. Done it a few times (well, my lawyer did, but it was fun none the less). And a little Paul Stanley for you KISS Army folks. Don’t give me crap about his outfit, it’s close enough.
This is not the first time KISS has shown up in the comic. Their face makeup made an appearance on Lorraine’s body. Click here to see that comic.
Keeping up with the KISS theme, I’ve pulled the title track from their 1977 album “Love Gun” for today.

Deep Purple fan, eh?
What’s your opinion of Ritchie’s latest project: Blackmore’s Night?
Me I liked the first few albums pretty well, but everything after Ghost of a Rose has been somewhat lacking…
I’m in to the MKII line-up as Ian Gillan is one of the great rock vocalists. After that, meh…
Good thing at their age that KISS keeps the makeup on.
Well… this is 1977… they weren’t that old yet…
But today… yeah, cover them wrinkles boys.
😛
Classic. KISS and Purple in the same comic. I love you, man. 🙂
I aim to please. 🙂
(Oddly enough, I discovered both bands around the same time… and yes, it was 1977, too. I had HEARD “Smoke on the Water” and “MY Woman From Tokyo” on the radio years earlier, but I didn’t know who had actually done them until my friend Mike played Machine Head for me in 1977. That same year saw my introduction to KISS via the song “Calling Dr. Love” on the radio and my classmates in seventh grade (at Catholic school, no less) raving about the band. Given my Dad-given love of horror movies and comic books, KISS was a natural fit for me. Deep Purple was the better band by far, but for a monster geek like me, four dudes in weird make-up, breathing fire and blowing up the stage, proved irresistible.
I guess maybe I’m just old, but I haven’t felt that kind of excitement about a rock band in ages. That said, Storm Large rocks my world – and we’re gong to go see her tonight, which makes me happy. 🙂
KISS has its place in the rock and roll world. They do what they do very well and you can’t knock their legion of KISS ARMY fans. I don’t mind their stuff, but it’s not the first thing I go to.
That said, the MKII version of Deep Purple’s output from 1970 to 1973 is just damn great. Really not a clunker in the set. “Who Do We Think We Are?” was a damn good album that gets over looked for the one hit on it. “Rat Bat Blue” will knock your socks off when cranked to 11.
And I agree, there are not many bands invoking those sorts of reactions from me lately. But they’re out there, I just gotta look harder.
😛
Fireball is one of the most underrated albums ever. I love me some Deep Purple. I met Roger Glover and he was way cool! Gr8 band! Nicely played!
Roger is one of my top influences for playing bass. Wearing cowboy hats like him was something I did in ’79 in my last band, Street Legal. Sadly, no pictures of me remain of my rocker years. I destroyed them all in a fit of “I’m done with this rock and roll crap!” and tossed EVERYTHING in the garbage as I prepared to move in 1980. Ugh… If you’re lucky, somewhere in a garbage dump in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois are a bunch of photos of me in my rock days (and some old girlfriends too).
Now, wouldn’t *that* be fun to find… 😛

Luckily, the Master of the Universe has fixed your typo! 🙂
Clever guy! 🙂
Yes, he is… 🙂
Yay! It’s always a good day when Paul Stanley shows up. Nice work on the makeup and the costume is more than close enough.
Thanks George! I was working on Gene for a long time when I realized I could draw Paul in like no time at all. DOH!! Gene’s hair is harder to draw then one realizes. And that tongue… well, less said the better.
