Better late than never, I guess. Felt like crap the past 24 hours and that set me back a bit. What really caused the delay was I started this strip over the weekend and then yesterday decided to completely re-write the damn thing. Of course this didn’t help my deadline either!
Fyodor will be tagging along for most of the remainder of the trip. Now comes the hard part for me as I try to draw some backgrounds that represent some areas of Latvia. I took several years of drafting/technical drawing, so it’s something I can do, but it is a very time consuming and most of the background get covered up anyway. Ugh…
As a side note… I’ve never been outside of the USA except for a brief dinner in Canada one night (which I tipped the waitress WAY too much as I screwed up the conversion in my head). So, I hope to visit many places someday, and now Latvia is on that list. Now to get a passport… 🙂
Oh, yes, the comic’s title is the 1977 album by ABBA… great album regardless of what you think of the group. Yes, I like ABBA even though I’m pretty much a hard rock nut.
Fyodor is not a Latvian name, you should have made it Teodors. Latvian male names traditionally end in “s”
Greetings! It was my understanding that the escorts would have been Russian in 1977. At least that was where I was headed. Good to know though and I’m glad to have you along for the “trip!”
In 1977 the escort would probably be Russian (and certainly an experienced and trusted party member). And you would not go anywhere without your guide. What you would see would be only what they wanted you to see, nothing else.
