Mr. Snotty Sock to the rescue! Snotty Sock? Ewwww….
New to the comic? Check out the “Origins of the Mystic Frog” by clicking here.
And finally, Bud did not rip out of his t-shirt for we ALL know how stretchy cotton t-shirts can be. But alas, his briefs did not fair so well…
No song title for this one as I just couldn’t think of a song that represents Mr. Snotty Sock. If anyone would like to write one… 🙂
So, he’s gonna do that every time he explodes in anger after someone says “Chill Out”? I wonder if that still happens in the present……
Wow, havent seen that oen coming.
Glad to see it back though!
And is it me or Mr. Sock looks like Jeff’s pet lizard?
Hmm…the only titles I can think of come from The Smiths:
Hand in Glove
The Hand that Rocks the Cradle
and…
HANDsome Devil
Yeah, I know…they’re all lame!
RE: vince – Interesting thought… maybe THAT’s why he didnt’ get married for so long? Hmmm… Actually, hadn’t thought about it… so it’s best I figure that out!
🙂
RE: michaelschenker – I was hoping this would lighten things up and it has been a while since Bud transformed.
Yes, the sock looks like Poco. I’m kinda lame sometimes… Either that or the puppet looked like Kermit the Frog, so I went with Poco…
RE: musicobsessive – I hadn’t gone in that direction! 🙂 Now I wish I had!
There is a long and honored tradition in webcomics for turning the male lead into a woman. I salute you for upholding this tradition, Byron, and salute you again for the transformation causing Bud’s bottoms to vanish completely this time.
RE: Kevin – Actually, two things inspired me to do this:
One: I grew up watching Milton Berle portray himself disguised as a woman and thought this was just hilarious (I’m easily amused). I believe he has a quote that goes “A man that dresses like a woman ain’t half bad!” Classic.
Two: I grew up with three older sisters and until 2nd grade I thought I was going to grow to be a woman. I had no guy stuff, just hand-me downs from my sisters (not clothes). I didn’t have a “boys” bike until 3rd grade and nearly crushed Mr. Happy the first time I stopped the bike. Lesson 1: Hop to the side, not straight down off the bike seat.
So it is only natural I have Bud transforming into a female character from time to time. But, I’m also glad I fit into a time honored tradition too! 😀
So how skinny is bud if changing into a fit and sexy woman rips out all his stretchy clothes? He’s got to be right up there with the Freddie Mercury or Steven Tyler physique…
RE: David – Check out this comic:

Bud “hulks” out as he transformers from guy-to-gal and vice-versa. I’ve always been a fan of the Hulk and wanted to use the “don’t make me angry” bit in Bud’s transformation process. He “hulks” out for a moment and then is either a guy or a gal. The links in the original post explain how this happened to him the first time.
I would like to point out that Robyn’s breasts have also grown, since then.
(Can’t leave out *MY* favorite 1977 girl)
Lorraine is great and all, but Robyn has my kind of attitude.
Oh yeah… I should have remembered. Sorry about that! Guess it’s been too long!
Now I just have to go back and re-read everything. Bummer… 😉
RE: David – Hey, I totally blew Bud’s sister’s name last time she appeared. The whole Brenda/Rhonda thing. I covered it by saying Rhonda is her “stage” name, but I just forgot. DOH!
RE: Jeremy – Yeah, the women are rounder and larger now. Robyn does have attitude and I like that too! Yeah, Lorraine gets a lot of attention, but Robyn has you covered. I have to do more with her Tom-Boy background too. A girl with 6 older brothers is bound to be a bit “rough” at times. 🙂
I finally subscribed late, not because I didn’t want to (I have loved the strip since first I discovered it; in 1977, I was 26, and back in college), but because of personal finances (being poor REALLY sucks!).
RE: Brett – Ah, someone older than me! Cool! You’re the same age as Ace Frehley of KISS! Rock on…
I say again that in these harsh economic times anyone who can subscribe has my deepest respect. I watch every dime and know even $20 is hard to find some days.
And I am truly getting some cool stuff together for the subscribers. I know you’ll enjoy it all! Thank you for your support, and most of all, for liking the comic!
🙂
Oh what luck Bud is becoming a woman oh the fun of dresses make up and shoes.
