Bud seems to have the answer to his problem! So what’s next? We’ll have to wait and see. New to the story? Click on the “Mystic Frog Starts Here” banner to the left.
Yes, that’s “Magilla Gorilla” in the first frame. And the shop is based on Mr. Peebles pet shop as well. Except in the Hanna-Barbera version, the puppies weren’t Magilla snacks. π
In 1977 the Ramones spit out two albums (top that you slow-poke Tom Scholz). The second one, “Rocket To Russia” featured today’s comic title. I wasn’t into the Ramones when they first appeared, but have learned to dig them as I’ve gotten older and a bit more open minded with musical tastes.
R-A-M-O-N-E-S RAMONES!
Indeed. π
Is bud reading the clues right, after all who would to be in a glass tank with no TV, brew, or chips. And where is the kick back chair?
BTW family first.
LOL! I’ll have to double-check my script…
And thanks. I generally do put my boys first. π
Let hope Bud can convince the frog to come back to the Pet shop.
Also, I do enjoy a Magilla Gorilla cameo. π
I, from time-to-time, feel like I need to nod my hat to Hanna-Barbera cartoons as without them, I doubt I’d be here drawing 1977.
It’ll take a bit more than that I think. π
I remember Woody Wood Pecker that predates Huckleberry Hound most of the rest by many years
I do remember Woody Woodpecker, Mighty Mouse and even vaguely remember Bucky and Pepito by Sam Singer, but it was those Hanna-Barbera cartoons that really called to me for some odd reason. As I grew older, then cartoons like Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, Birdman and The Herculoids influenced the way I draw today.
I have a dream that one day Archie comics is going to call you so you can do a real 70’s version of a Archie comic
I have thought about putting together a portfolio and sending it to Archie comics. I certainly have their style and, man, do I know the 70s. π
YOU’RE BACK!!!!
YAY!!!!
Welcome back, Byron. Glad to see you at the boards again.
Thanks. π
Thanks, man! Good to be back!
