With today’s comic, I have decided to take a break. Yes, I’m going to put the comic on hiatus. The comic will return on Sunday, August 2nd, with the launch of the BIG California road trip storyline (and the elements that build up to the trip). There will be some changes between now and then… let me explain.
Why am I taking time off? There are MANY reasons. First, it’s about time and money. It is also about a buffer of comics, and not missing deadlines. It is about finishing the book. It is about setting up a new host & start on updating the design of the website (pressure is on you Lena!), and it is about getting my life together so I can tackle 1977 full-time.
I have taken a job for the first time since 1986. I have been successfully self employed ever since, that is until these past couple years. It has been a struggle, and we all know why… But, the corner is turning and I need to get on my feet financially. Will that happen in 6 weeks? Hell, no, but I’ll have a better grip on it for sure.
I have been reading webcomics for many years now and have patiently waited as other comics get their act together and put comics on hiatus. This is not a permanent one for sure, count on it. I also will have MANY updates so it’s not like you won’t hear from me, or the characters!
Thank you all for your support. When 1977 comes back, be prepared for a great, long ride! See you on the flip side… I’m 10-10 and on the side!

I totally understand the need to work things out. I work way too many hours and write/proofread on the side. It burns you out. Take as much time as you need and I know I will be here when you get back.

Well, Bud nearly put a 7″ saw blade into Chet, tore down the wrong wall, and split Jeff’s hair with a nail gun plus taught Poco to surf on a belt sander… I’d say he had it coming.
