I spent most of the day Sunday at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois, as the artwork that I did for NBC Sports rode into town for the NASCAR race. Very cool to see my artwork in action! Tons of folks taking shots and having fun with the cutouts. So, I was totally worn out by the time I got home, edited the images and then crashed. But it was worth it!

“Farts are shit without the mess.” – George Carlin

I tried to do two pages a week, but it was too much for me to handle at the moment. But, at least I get a chance to color the comics up nicely. Digging that part. Takes a lot of work, but it’s fun to see the page progress and “come alive” as I add each element. Love penciling the page too, as it’s essentially the same process; I’m watching the page come to life. Inking is another subject. That’s essentially tracing and, for me, adds little excitement to the page. It makes the coloring process a helluva lot easier, but man, it’s boring. I will have to come up with something to enliven the inking process for me. Or enough income to hire an inker.

One more page then we start the rescue portion of the story. Then it’s off to New York city! Both for the comic and myself. I’ll be at the New York Comic Con visiting some friends. I will not have a table there as it’s too expensive at the moment. Also, NYCC has become a huge pain to get into Artist Alley. Will have to work on that part next year.

George Carlin made my High School years survivable. His humor hit home for me and I enjoyed all of his recorded works. Saw him in Las Vegas in 2001 and it was a gas. Sad he’s gone, but luckily, we have his works to always remind us of his wit and wisdom.
