Bud and Jeff take in a Mardi Gras parade in their own style. Thank God for ’69 Chevys!

I use Manga Studio EX to draw my cartoons. People ask me why I don’t use PhotoShopCS3 or Flash to draw. I’m self taught in all my software applications and I’ve not seen a good way to draw in those programs. But, Manga Studio allows me to draw like I would on paper. I can use a pencil setting for sketches and then ink those sketches all in layers exactly like PhotoShop, so the learning curve was very small for me.

BUT… the biggest thing I like about Manga Studio is its LINE tools. Select the curved line tool, set the thickness, draw two points and then slide the mouse to adjust the curve. SIMPLE and FANTASTIC at the same freakin’ time! PhotoShop is 3X’s the cost of Manga Studio and its line tools sucks ass. The curved line tool allowed me to trace over an image of a 1969 Chevy in less than an hour (which is why the car appears soooo clean in the comic). I know I couldn’t do that in PhotoShop currently.

Trust me, I can’t live without PhotoShop, but if you’re drawing any form of comic, check out Manga Studio. And no, I’m not paid to say this, I’m a satisfied customer and I believe if you like something, say so!

Oh, yeah… the title is a 1969 Doors album. It featured “Touch Me” and 3 other singles, but only “Touch Me” did anything on the charts.
