Today’s comic gets the band rehearsing and allows me to “nod my hat” to Chuck Jones.

In 1943, Jones directed a Warner Bros. Bugs Bunny cartoon called “Super Rabbit” wherein Bugs obtains Superman like powers from a fortified carrot. After the scientist explains what Bugs can do, our “hero” jumps into a nearby phone booth (in a laboratory?) and pops out dressed as Little Bo Peep! Now, to me, the real gag of the scene is not that Bugs is dressed in drag, but that he’s also pulling along a little toy sheep! (Go search for the cartoon on YouTube and see for yourself!) Jones and his animators put in these little gems all the time, and to me, they’re the real joke!

Also, the comic’s title is from Jethro Tull’s 1971 album called “Aqualung” and a song of the same name. And I’m not sure, but I believe Bo Peep is NOT a Mother Goose story, but you get the idea.
