Bud and Jeff set up for their first gig at the Ground Round Grill and Bar. In many areas of the USA, the Ground Round helped launch many a career of very unsucessful musicians. Besides playing in a balcony, there was a juke box downstairs, a TV always on, people in the bar area and of course noisey kids eating their hamburgers. Top that off with free popcorn, peanut shells on the floor and people who really didn’t give a crap that a musician was trying to perform and you have a great learning experience… and that was NOT to play the Ground Round.
Nothing against the place for food, but in the 70s it was a livin’ hell for performers.
