All I’ll say is to remember I’m never gonna make 1977 too serious, so I’m not pulling some “on a special 1977” crap.
I’m getting use to the new eyes. Tried to mix up the posing in the 3rd panel and didn’t quite pull it off, but fun to do just the same.
The comic’s title is of course from 1977’s HUGE album, Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumors” Not my favorite song on the album, but kinda fits the theme.

I don’t get it.
If it was lonely, and she had needs, that means she cheated on Bud.
If she cheated on Bud, why is she coming to tell HIM she’s pregnant…? And why is Bud passing out?

RE: Fernando – You are picking up on the subtleties of this comic. Did she cheat on Bud and is Bud the father will be cleared up after Monday’s comic. Bud did not pass out, I was trying to convey she yelled at him so loudly it knocked him out of his seat. I may have missed the mark on that one.
Yes, Delilah turned out nicely in frame 4 and I’m getting the hang of the new eyes. Thank you for that!

Sounds to me like she cheated, now is pregnant by some other guy, and is breaking up with Bud. Regardless of what the true case actually is, I can’t see it as being good news for poor ol’ Bud.
Well…actually, Bud deserved that.
If she’s not important enough to go with them, he’s not important enough for her to keep the “temp chastity belt”, heheheh!

Well, Delilah didn’t go as Jeff’s father sent enough tickets for 4 people, which would be the main foursome, and as Bud is essentially unemployed, how would he pay for her to go? So, she was the natural one to leave behind.
And with Bud on the “road” with the band or playing bars on weekends, that eats up prime dating time too (I know this from personal experience). We can only assume Delilah works, so she’s not seeing a lot of Bud anyway. Also, she’s not essential to the main storyline anyway.
But, as with most soap operas, never count anyone as “gone” from the story completely. There’s more Delilah to come.
